This one's for Dad --everyone can look, too:-)

This is the entrance to a traditional Kuwait home, built in 1936. It houses a weaving museum.

We both got a good laugh when we left and said "Dad would say this door is made for a guy my size, not a guy Gene's size"

Just one more Mosque...It was too pretty to pass by

We were driving home from taking an early morning walk downtown by the Arabian gulf. We walked near the Parliament building and walked the entire length of Seif Palace. The fountains at the palace were beautiful. As we were speeding down the Coast Road (nothing moves slowly here), I saw the coolest dome and minaret and Gene did a u turn at the next road and we drove into the neighborhood to get a closer look. It was awesome!

We went into the Desert. Far into the desert. Heres a few of the things we saw.

Ok, we didn't actually see a picture of ourselves, but Mom liked the blog but mentioned there are not any pictures if us, so here, Mom, this one's for you.

Cats!

Cats!!

The cats we have seen here in Kuwait are so skinny!! They are all legs and long tails!
I have snapped a few pictures for you guys to see.

He is eating a crab leg outside a fish market.

This little guy lives near
gene's apartment. He peeks
at us from behind trees when we walk in his neighborhood.

This kitty is going to me a mommy soon! I hope she doesnt have kittens in these rocks!

This guy looks like a house elf from Harry Potter. He is so darn skinny and has huge ears!

These guys were hilarious! The little ones were running up and down the sidewalk, hiding from each other and pouncing on each other. they ran off towards this refreshment stand. When we got there, they were playing and fighting with the Daddy cat. they were very entertaining! they were fat and furry and so cute!

Downtown

We took an early morning drive into downtown Kuwait City to visit the large city park. It was pretty bare, sandy with patches of grass. There were nice shade trees and manicured shrubs.

On the left you can see far in the distance the shadow of the Kuwait Towers.

This is the view from the park into downtown. There is building going on everywhere!

Here's a couple of shots of a cool tower. I'm not sure what it is, but it kept peeking around corners at us!

Minarets & Mosques.

This video is call to prayer at The Blue Mosque, Istanbul Turkey. Its the only video we have with call to prayer. Thought you might like to hear it.

Two minarets in downtown Kuwait City.

The Grand Mosque, Kuwait City

There are mosques all over the place! This one has pigoens sitting on top of its golden dome. they fly and swoop and return.

Shooting pictures fron a moving car
has its challenges.

This mosque is across from the grocery store. It is beautiful!

There's more than fish at the Aquarium!

Before we got into the fish part of the aquarium, there was an interesting display of desert animals. Best of all...it was feeding time!

This falcon was enjoying his mouse!

This big cat is a Caracal. They live in the desert, and although they are extinct in Kuwait, the still live in Africa.

Gene took this one.
I'm not a fan of snakes...
especially big ones.

The Kuwait Aquarium

We spent a wonderful afternoon at the cool Kuwait Aquarium. We went there with Gene's co-worker, Dave, who is going home for good next week (lucky).

Gene and Dave had been there a few weeks ago, but they were both pleasantly surprised when we happened to get there at FEEDING TIME!! The animals and fish were very active.

Here are some more of the things we saw
:

This seahorse photo was one of probably 12 Gene shot. The glass in its tank made it hard to get a clear shot. One was great, and here it is!

This guy looks so darn scary!

There are penguins at the Aquarium for the first time in Kuwait.
They decided to jump in for
a swim as soon as we got to their tank!

These are called Tiger Fish. They look so amazing with delicate fins and bold stripes. This is a great video.

This shot of the rays and the great white amazed me! Their tank was huge and we got to view it from 3 sides. Truly an amazing sigh
t!
